SAFE INCLUSION is an NGO dedicated to advancing the socio-economic inclusion of vulnerable groups, including women, youth, and children, within their communities. Our mission is to address these critical challenges and empower those in need through targeted support and innovative solutions.

Our Work

NUTRITION

Safe Inclusion, in collaboration with other partners in the Nutrition sector, intervenes in localities where malnutrition rates are very high, using an inclusive approach that empowers women and men to combat malnutrition and the vulnerability of the most affected households using a community-based nutritional approach.

FOOD SECURITY

Food security in Burundi is compromised by poverty, population growth, land and environmental degradation, and gender inequality in access to resources.
One of the approaches proposed by Safe Inclusion is the “Kitchen Garden”, which contributes rapidly to the nutritional response, but also to the valorization of small spaces.

COMMUNITY LIFTING

As a response to the exclusion of vulnerable people in the community such as women, Safe Inclusion uses the approach of financial savings and credit groups, enabling members to make contributions and obtain credit when needed. This approach also enables vulnerable communities, especially women, to become financially autonomous, to develop and to contribute to household expenses

TESTIMONIES

« I can testify that, ever since I adhered to this loans and savings group, I am not only financially independent, but can also help my husband with household’s expenses. Before, my husband used to be the one to cover all the expenses in our home, such as school fees of our kids, foods, school materials, etc... But today he is also happy for me that I even opened a small bar that sells traditional beers, so, now we can’t find ourselves in debts, or lacking something at home. I am really gratefulmentions Pascasie Nduwimana, 43 years old, member of “Twitez’imbere” group, Bubanza Province

At the screening on 28/09, my daughter's color was red, indicating that she was suffering from severe acute malnutrition. The community health worker immediately referred me to the health center so that she could receive treatment. He also gave me valuable advice on child nutrition and helped me by bringing some food. Today, after another screening, I'm delighted to see that she's now green. I'm so happy that my other children are also doing well, I thank Safe Inclusion I would like to thank Safe Inclusion for making Community Health Workers available to usNiyubuntu Anne, mother of Clarisse Iteriteka, Makamba Province

We used to be able to buy a bucket of fish and pay around 5,000 FrBu for drying, but now we have our own drying racks. We are still paying, but this money goes straight into our coffers, enabling us to improve our income and develop not only ourselves, but also our association. We'd like to thank Safe Inclusion for always standing by usBARANTANDIKIRIYE Conses, vice-présidente de l’association « MUKENYEZITUZAMURANE », Rumonge Province
